Application Specialist Material Characterization
iD2 is a young dynamic company and strategic partner of PerkinElmer®. Our organization is located in the heart of Bruges and active in advice and consultancy. Our core activity is to provide support in the field of analytical spectroscopic techniques and thermal analysis. We are currently looking for a motivated team player to further expand our services.
Purpose & responsabilities
Your agenda is consumed by supporting the Benelux-Nordics partner organization. You team up with a larger international team in which you’ll work with analytical equipment within the domain of material characterization (FTIR, UV-VIS, Thermal analysis like DSC, TGA, ...). Your day job can range from method development, to sample analyses and optimization of workflows, to elaborating the results obtained in the form of a report or a presentation for our prospects and customers. You’ll be based at “2Discuvir”, an Xperience and meeting center which is located in the heart of Bruges, where most of our deployable analytical instrumentation is up and running. A considerable amount of your time is spend in providing sales application and software support and hosting onsite and online application and software training courses.
Background & Skills
You have a scientific background. Preferably you’re holding a master's degree in chemistry or you are a technical/industrial engineer (chemistry or related). If you have a bachelor's degree, you combine the latter with a number of years of experience with the techniques below.
You have at least an affinity for, but preferably experience with analytical instrumentation (molecular spectroscopic techniques, FTIR, UV-VIS, microscopy, thermal analysis or other, ...).
You think analytically and have good problem-solving skills.
You are preferably Dutch speaking, yet it is essential that you can communicate at a professional level in English. A good knowledge of French is not a must, but is definitely recognized as added value as well.
You have a commercial attitude and businesslike presence.
You divide the tasks with your colleagues and team in an effective way, whereby you see the objectives of the organization as primary.
In case required, you are fine with completing your task independently, you are pragmatic and can meticulously analyze a topic or project.
You have expertise in the use of office tools and you can quickly learn and use specific software programs.
Our offices are located in Bruges, but you can be sent out to Benelux-Nordics customers, in the context of training assignments and projects.
You are capable of sharing your knowledge and skills in a comprehensive manner.
